Library Services for Faculty

Guide to services provided by the library for Reinhardt faculty.

Historian and writer Shelby Foote was quoted as saying, "A university is just a group of buildings gathered around a library." Whether or not you agree with his assessment, we are proud of the services and resources that the Hill Freeman Library and Spruill Learning Center offers to assist Reinhardt faculty in the instruction of students both inside and outside of the classroom.

General Library Information and Services

During Fall and Spring semesters, the library is open and staffed Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 11 pm, Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, Saturday from 1 pm to 5 pm, and Sunday from 2 pm until 11 pm. Hours vary during summer, holidays, and breaks. Reinhardt students and faculty have 24/7/365 access to computers and after-hours study areas with their Eagle cards.

Did you know you can make use of the library without even stepping into the building? Our collection includes about 73,000 physical books and media, but we also have approximately 150,000 e-books that can be accessed from your laptop, tablet, or smart phone. The library is a member of GALILEO, and we have access to over 150 databases and 33,000 full-text journals. That means you can use our resources any time of the day or night, in the comfort of your own office or home. To access library resources, go to our web page at https://www.reinhardt.edu/library/. Your single-sign on credentials will allow you access to the databases.

The library provides areas for small group study, tutorials, a technology lab, and a large meeting room in addition to open computing and study spaces. Use Ad Astra to reserve space for you or your class.

Books, articles, and other documents not owned by the library or not accessible through our databases are often available through Interlibrary Loan (ILL).  To request interlibrary loan materials, fill out the online request form on our web page, e-mail us, or come by the library.  Be sure to plan ahead as ILL requests may take several days or weeks to fulfill.

Your Reinhardt Eagle Card serves as your library card, and also grants you access to the 24-hour areas of the building. The link to our library catalog is on the library’s homepage at https://www.reinhardt.edu/library/.  Faculty may check out most books for 6 months at a time, and books can be renewed in person or by calling 770-720-9120. Faculty members are not charged overdue fines.
